Mr. Graham’s Bio 20 students took part in the award-winning RiverWatch Science Program on the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton!

Bio 20

On Wednesday, Mr. Graham’s Bio 20 students became young scientists as they took part in the award-winning RiverWatch Science Program on the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton. The best way to study a river, the biosphere and its ecosystems is to take a trip aboard RiverWatch’s fully equipped floating laboratory. Students compared conditions above and below the Epcor Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. Students paddle-powered the rafts; and at 2 selected shore-line locations, collected enough science data to form their own conclusions, “How healthy is the river?” It was an amazing hands-on trip to study river health and learn about environmental stewardship.
